Mansion House Hotel
Mansion House Hotel, ElginThis former private home was converted to a high quality hotel in 1985 after a petition raised by the new owner and listing by Historic Scotland the proposed demolition of the building by Moray Council to build a new library. Wittets Ltd have been involved from assisting with that petition to designing the conversion in several stages to the current hotel which has had several bedroom extensions, the addition of a country club with swimming pool, and other leisure facilities and a function suite. The original public rooms have been retained to the front of the former building for the guest lounge and dining room, with the extensions restricted to the rear to preserve the grand frontage and large front gardens.
